Participation Rules & Guidelines for Nonprofit Organizations

Kenosha HarborMarket offers a unique opportunity for area nonprofits to connect with the community about their mission. From selling event and raffle tickets to educating about good health, nonprofit organizations will find a large, multi-generational audience waiting for them at the Market.

The information below is for nonprofit organizations who wish to participate at Kenosha HarborMarket for free. There are additional opportunities for groups who can pay booth fees. All organizations, and their Market day's activities, must be pre-approved by the Market management.

Who can participate?
Any nonprofit organization whose primary focus is arts & culture, education, health, the environment or human services is welcome to a HarborMarket booth without fees three times each season. This opportunity is not open to groups whose primary focus is political or religious.

How to participate
Applications for free participation by a nonprofit organization must be received at least two weeks in advance of the date(s) your group wishes to attend. Visit the website: www.kenoshaharbormarket.com Print, complete, and mail the vendor application for the Miscellaneous category. Write "Nonprofit-free" in the fees column.

Upon request, the Market will provide a tent free of charge. The nonprofit organization must bring their own tables and chairs, and any other supplies, signage and equipment they will need for the day. If you will be bringing your own tent, the canopy must be white.

Electricity is available on a very limited basis, and only to those whose need for it is essential.

What can you sell at the Market?
You can sell raffle and event tickets, and items like T-shirts and hats that are imprinted with your organization's name. You may also have to opportunity to sell hand-made items or certain foods.

You are not required to sell anything. Simply educating the public is reason enough to participate.

What can't your organization sell at the Market?
You cannot sell, or give away, items that compete with the products of Market vendors who have paid for their booth. An example of these items would be most foods or beverages. If your group makes, for example, ethnic art or food products, you may be able to sell these if no other paid vendor offers them. (Food products must comply with Health Department rules.)

Can our group participate more than three times?
There are two ways your nonprofit organization can attend the Market more than three times; up to a total of ten times. 1) If your organization will provide a free, organized activity throughout the Market day, like something fun for children to do, the Market will provide a booth and tent for free. 2) Your group can pay the booth fee, and rent a tent, if needed.
